Considering that the storms have been missing CT, I wondered if they were going to start heading even further south. The last time we had an unusual solar minimum was the late '70s. I remember seeing a lot of snow down south in February [more than was on the ground in CT some years]. It usually didn't give way to bare ground until you were near Savannah. Hopefully you'll be out of the woods, so to speak, in a few weeks when the pattern shifts.

well, it's started to rain (around 3pm)...supposed to switch to snow after sunset/6pm...

It's crazy...they had early dismissal at the schools, Delta cancelled all flights into/out of Charleston as of 8am last night...SCDOT is treating all the bridges already, and SC State PD is advising that if you don't HAVE to go out, then don't...

We went to Lowe's this morning for some shelving...snow shovels- 24.99 and 39.99...and peoples cart loaded up with prepackaged bundles of firewood..not a dura-flame log or firestarter to be found anywhere, bags of salt piled up on pallets...on the way home, we had to stop at a railroad crossing for a freight train going by-must've been 20+ hopper cars PILED with salt...it's laughable...

I have "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" running through my head almost in a loop!!
